Jewelry Care

Your beaded jewelry is made to last, but as always, with handmade products, taking proper care will ensure they stay in tip-top shape.

How should I store my earrings?

It is best to hang your beaded earrings or store them flat. Studs can also be placed in a jewelry pouch or box.

Can I keep the earrings on while I shower/swim?

Your beaded pieces will survive a dip or two; however, moisture can affect particular bead finishes and thread tension. Please allow your pieces to air dry completely. Do not use heat.

My earrings don't look as smooth as when I first purchased them. What can I do?

Woven beads will naturally bend and warp with wear over time. You can gently reshape the beads with your fingers or press them flat on a smooth, clean surface.

 

Materials

What metals do you use?

Ear wires are always 14k gold-filled. Studs are 14k gold-filled or hypoallergenic titanium. Material details are listed in the product description.

Gold-filled vs. Gold plated

In a nutshell: Gold-filled has a much thicker layer of gold (5% vs 0.05%), which means it does not tarnish as easily, will last longer and stand up to wear and tear much better than plated. This post has a more detailed explanation on the difference.

 

Packaging

All earrings come in a jewelry box secured with washi tape or paper ribbon. Orders with multiple items will be consolidated into fewer boxes.

For gift orders:

There is an "add a note to your order" box on the bottom left of your Cart page. If you are ordering multiple items and only one is a gift, let me know and I will box it separately and mark the bottom with a small gold dot. You can also contact me here.

 

Sustainability

I offer mostly made-to-order pieces to minimize my materials waste.

All packaging is plastic-free and curbside recyclable.

• Washi tape - compostable rice paper, soy based ink, water based coating
• Padded paper mailer - 100% recycled content, 20% post-consumer waste, made with macerated newsprint
• Shipping label - 100% post-consumer waste white paper

 

Shipping

When will my order ship?

Specific shipping information is noted in the product description under "Shipping & Returns"

In Stock items are shipped in 1-3 business days.

Made to Order items ship in 1-2 weeks.

All US domestic orders are shipped via USPS Ground Advantage with tracking.

Do you ship internationally?

I currently only ship to the U.S. and Canada. Orders to Canada ship via USPS First Class International or Priority International. CLARAMING is not responsible for any customs or import charges.

 

Returns

What is your return policy?

At this time CLARAMING does not accept returns for any purchases.
